Transformation Finance Lead

Based in Luton, Bedfordshire, our client is a FTSE 100 Plc looking for an interim qualified accountant to join the business as Transformation Finance Lead for an initial 3 month contract that is likely to be extended.

This job would suit an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified professional interim to be responsible for creating and maintaining the financial governance of the Programme across all workstreams, consolidating financial data at a programme level, and tracking and reporting progress against financial targets to key stakeholders up to and including PLC Board level.

This company is a leading employer in the area with an enviable record of expansion and growth in new and existing markets whilst also building its core business consistently over the years. This rapid growth has resulted in the need for the business to create a Cost and Efficiency transformation programme with the aim of saving over £100M over the next 5 years.

The successful individual will be an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant of the highest calibre specialising in business change enjoying collaboration across business initiatives to deliver business led change. The candidate should have previous experience operating in a transformation leadership role and will have delivered significant multi million pound in-year savings and business benefits. The candidate must be able to see the big picture as well as being able to analyse and support and influence stakeholders and business leaders to drive effective change.

Duties will include:

  • Develop and implement the financial framework for Programme governance, and ensure this is effectively communicated and rolled out across each workstream
  • Create and manage an effective Change Control process, ensuring that any movement to workstream targets and forecast delivery has been signed off by the relevant workstream lead and Finance Director
  • Constructively challenge workstream financial plans and assumptions to test the robustness, practicality and deliverability of the savings targets, including the mechanism of how the savings will be realised and the financial geography of where in the P&L the benefits will materialise
  • Lead the overall Programme engagement with the Finance community across the business, ensuring key messages and requirements are communicated effectively; feedback loops are in place; relevant forums, meetings and workshops are organised efficiently and on a timely basis; and consideration is given to aligning the broader financial calendar and key activities (e.g. budgets, forecasts, audits, year-end) with the requirements of the Programme
  • Manage the consolidation and reporting cycle for savings at a Programme level, providing insight and commentary to support the numbers, including financial risks and opportunities

Every application will receive a response as this is the recognised working practice at MRK Associates.
