A privately owned, well known clothing brand is recruiting a commercially minded, Management Accountant.
Currently turning over £250m, the company has grown significantly in recent years, to become a market leader in a short space of time. As the business enters an exciting period of change and a pivotal time in the execution of its strategy, the business is looking strengthen the finance team with the hire of a bright and ambitious recently qualified Management Accountant.
Reporting directly into the Commercial Finance Manager, this role would be responsible for the following:
- Production of monthly management accounts pack including profit and loss, balance sheet, variance analysis and commentary
- Monitoring of stock in transit and resolution of anomalies
- Reconciliation of VAT for quarterly VAT returns
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Production of annual budget including full commentary
- Full autonomy in relation to the month end process including accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
- Monitoring the daily control report which identifies any anomalies within the accounts system and resolving these in a timely manner
- Involvement in the introduction of a new retail system
- Reconciling and agreeing intercompany balances
- Assisting the external auditors with any requests and queries
Potential and personality are more important than prior experience so candidates will not be required to have previously held the above responsibilities as they will be supported as they come up to speed. Candidates should however have the following:
- Accounting qualification; ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Strong commercial acumen
- Excellent excel skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to meet demanding deadlines
