Commercial Analyst

The overall purpose of the role is to: Ensure the effective management of ICT budgets and related finances including project/programme, revenue and capital budgets. Create and establish new processes, controls, reporting and monitoring capabilities, working closely with finance colleagues building relationships and improving overall commercial practices throughout ICT.

1. Responsible for introducing appropriate financial process, procedures and controls within ICT, resulting in the improvement of the department's financial management.

2. Budget planning, forecasting and financial reporting across ICT: project accounting, capital bids, resources and various funding submissions, deploying appropriate financial ratios (ROI, NPPV, DCF etc.) tools and methods where appropriate.

3. Establish and own project accounting element, supporting PMO and Portfolio in holding project managers to account on their financial management of capex projects and challenging how and when budgets are being spent.

4. Supporting the Senior Management Team, extended Leadership team / department heads and resource manager with relevant financial information with planning across short and long term time horizons.

5. Establish a financial maturity model for ICT with a defined delivery plan. To be reviewed and improved through continuous improvement and based on feedback to ensure effective deployment of budget resources.

6. Able to clearly present and communicate financial matters, forecasting, profit and loss reporting and variance analysis in appropriate forms for the target audience including giving presentations to senior stakeholders.

7. Partnering with both finance teams and other colleagues to ensure timely, accurate and robust processes are in place to enable management of ICT budgets and related finances of the department, building close relationships and aligning process where possible.

To be considered for this role you will ideally be a qualified accountant with demonstrable experience in commercial analysis and business partnering.

Experience of working in an technology business, support ICT staff or working in a more technical sector would be an advantage but not compulsory.

Salary up to £40k, 30 days holidays plus very generous pension scheme.
