Senior Operational Accountant

A well-established and highly regarded public sector organisation based in Liverpool is looking to recruit a Senior Operational Accountant to join its team. The position is ideal for an ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified Accountant with existing experience operating in a commercial finance role and who thrives in a challenging role in which a big difference can be made to business performance. The Senior Operational Accountant will be responsible for:

• Preparation of commercial and financial information including daily and weekly P&L reporting
• Implementation and enhancement of internal financial controls
• Preparation of detailed analysis with commentary in order to assist Operational Managers identify opportunities and mitigate risk
• Management accounting and reporting including completion and/or assistance in preparation of the monthly management accounts
• Production of budgets and forecasts
• Interpretation of financial data and presentation of results to both budget holders and central finance
• Supervision of 1 member of staff
• Ad hoc analysis and project work as and when required

Ideally you will have/be:

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified Accountant
• Experience operating within a commercial finance role is essential
• Intermediate Excel skills (Vlookups, Pivots)
• Experience within the public sector is extremely advantageous but not essential
• Excellent communication skills are essential
