German Accountant

Adjacency are currently recruiting an Accountant to lead our clients German Reporting based within their EMEA Corporate Service Centre in Gloucestershire.  They are a privately owned organisation with a rich heritage spanning over 100 years.  They reinvest 90% of earnings back into the company and have an impressive Corporate Social Responsibility policy and their corporate university demonstrates how seriously they take their team’s personal development.  

The role comes with a basic salary of circa £45,000 plus guaranteed bonus of £2,900 and numerous other benefits. 

Working within a high performing team this role will have responsibility and ownership of reporting for the German business entities in line with company policy and procedures.

Experience required includes;

• Detailed knowledge and experience of German & US GAAP reporting, tax, VAT, government returns.
• Experience of working closely with stakeholders and senior management working as a financial adviser to the German business.
• Managing the intercompany process and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Working with the wider finance community to streamline and standardise process and procedures in line with the global finance strategy.
• Driving best practice and improvements to controls, reporting and integrity of information.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.  Ability and knowledge to act as accounting and financial consultant to the business.

Qualification/Skills:

• Fully Qualified Accountant or German equivalent with 2 years’ experience of working with German GAAP and intercompany accounting.
• Experience of working with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Fluent German and English language skills.
