Investigo are proud to be running an exclusive advertising campaign for Grafton Merchanting GB, in search of a Finance Manager, for their business based out of their site in Cowley, Oxfordshire.

Grafton own and operate various brands offering everything from specialised heating and plumbing products to general building and heavyside trade supplies.

In all, there are almost 500 Grafton-owned outlets employing 4,500 people across the country, making us one of the industry’s biggest employers. 
 

Role description:

The Finance Manager will be responsible for preparing the monthly management accounts, including Capex, group reporting and managing a team responsible for balance sheets. You will also take a lead on devolving and business partnering the property department raising the profile of the accounting function.

Job role:

  • Managing the balance sheet accountants
  • Managing and reviewing the balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring that the monthly reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
  • To ensure that there is continual improvements to the systems in place in conjunction with the roll out of the new ERP system.
  • To assist in the production of monthly management accounts and Group reporting on a timely and accurate manner including Capex.
  • Develop property accounting function and business partner with Property department for all aspects of property related accounting.
  • To develop and coach members of staff.
  • To liaise with the external auditors and help manage the audit process and work with the financial accountant to ensure the company is compliant in all statutory reporting.
  • To complete tasks as required by Finance Director and Financial Controller
  • Supporting the FP&A team in preparing budgets and forecasts.
  • Supporting the central finance function with ad-hoc project work.

Suitable for:

A Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 2-3 years’ post-qualification experience who enjoys planning and sees the bigger picture. An individual with good man-management skills and who is comfortable making decisions based on intuition and incomplete information.

Has a understanding of the Balance sheet and development of critical Management Information. Enjoys problem solving and analysing information/situations. Always looking for opportunities in continuous improvement and provides operational advice to colleagues and team members.
