Robertson Bell Finance are currently recruiting for an Interim Financial Accounting Officer to join a prestigious and inspiring Government organisation based in Swindon on an initial 3-month contract with the possibility of an extension.
Reporting into the Chief Financial Accountant the immediate need for this role over the next four - six weeks is focused around Assurance for the Governance Statement.
*Assisting the Head of Finance with the delivery of the financial section of the Governance Statement
*Analysing the feedback of the annual statement of internal controls and identify trends, weaknesses and improvements.
*To conduct analysis and provide a fresh pair of eyes to support organisation in making key governance decisions for 17/18.
*Deal with Audit queries from NAO.
Once the Audit is completed and signed off the role will switch to a financial accounting focus. Your duties will the consist mainly of:
*Supporting the Chief Financial Accountant with the delivery of accounts
*Ad-hoc reconciliations and year end returns
*Assist in managing year end accruals and prepayments
*Monthly analysis of expenditure to ensure consistency within the trial balance.
The successful candidate MUST hold a current Disclosure Scotland security clearance to hit the ground running. You will have a grounding in finance, understanding of accounting principles and candidates that are either part qualified or qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA - or equivalent), will be considered.
