Financial Controller

Based on the outskirts of Bolton this privately owned business manufactures highly specialised products for a niche sector. Having grown from humble beginnings they are now seeing the benefit of years of design and development resulting in a full order book and projected turnover for this year of £5m. The business now has ambitious plans following a successful new product launch and they would now like to appoint a Financial Controller to manage the accounts department and provide financial guidance to the owners. This will be a diverse, all-encompassing role where you will have full responsibility for the finance department. Duties will include:

• Producing monthly management accounts
• Statutory accounts / year end
• Ledger reconciliation for month end close
• Preparation of MI for the Directors
• Developing relevant KPI’s
• Preparation of accurate budgets and forecasts
• Cash flow forecasts to support fundraising
• Maintaining fixed asset register
• Foreign currency and stock management
• Payroll, VAT & PAYE, P11d’s etc.

The ideal candidate must have experience of working in a growing SME, able to deal with suppliers and customers in a professional manner whilst also possessing a hands on, flexible approach in the working environment. Previous experience of SAGE and the ability to drive system improvements and develop bespoke financial models would be very useful. The business has plans to grow and you will be expected to liaise credibly with external advisors, managing working capital and cash planning to help meet strategic objectives.
