Our client is looking for an experienced qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA Financial Controller to take over the day to day running of the finance function and supervise a small established team. The company is based in Hull, is in private ownership, long established and successful in their industry sector and experiencing rapid growth.
THE ROLE
-Preparation of management accounts for three companies and maintain the balance sheet reconciliations including the intercompany accounts
-Control daily banking movements, planning and controlling the bank accounts daily is vital to the business
-Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns ensuring that the VAT control accounts are reconciled
-Responsible for overseeing and supporting the sales and purchase ledger functions
-Preparation of all the financial statements requiring completion of detailed year end files for submission to the auditors for timely year end accounts/tax submissions
-Oversee the payroll function including administration of the company pension schemes
-Assisting the directors with the decision making process regarding utilities, insurances etc
-Provide support and training to the accounts team in general
THE CANDIDATE
- Reporting to the directors, this position will suit an all rounder with broad based accounting and leadership skills, a coaching management style and a high degree of systems literacy.
-Strong financial and analytical skills are essential as is attention to detail and good time management skills
-Previous experience of managing a team is important and as the company generates high volume transactions, previous experience in this type of environment would be desirable
-The successful candidate will have excellent communication and reporting skills with the ability to relay sometimes complex finance to non finance management
-Confident, self assured and with first class organisational skills, it is essential that candidates are qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA accountants with the relevant accounting and management experience.

-Based in Hull, our client operates in the transport sector and is situated close to good road links for the A63, Humber Bridge, eastern M62, Beverley and both east and west Hull villages.
