Head of Finance

Based in West London, our media client is looking for a qualified accountant to join them as Head of Finance, Facilities and HR.

This job would suit an ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified financial controller or manager looking to take responsibility for the back office functions of this c.£6M turnover business. Overseeing 4 people, this position will be part of the senior management team ensuring the accounts are produced in an accurate and timely manner and reporting directly to the parent company in Europe.

This company was recently acquired and a restructure has resulted in this position being recruited. The senior management team jointly run the UK business and report to the parent company so there will be exposure to high level decision making.

The successful individual will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with a strong track record running a finance functions ideally with responsibilities in other functional areas of the business. This individual will have good all round finance skills having improved controls and processes while ensuring all statutory obligations are fulfilled and developing the management accounts and business understanding through better KPIs and commercial accounting.

Duties will include:

• Strategic leadership and operational management to fulfil responsibilities and achieve defined goals
• Define, plan, manage and execute robust financial strategy, policies & procedures
• Manage bookkeeper and credit controller
• Financial ownership of the P&L and balance sheet
• Annual budgeting and managing the detailed Budgeting and Reforecast processes
• Lead preparation of statutory financial reporting and other regulatory reporting requirements (i.e. corporation tax, VAT)
• Define, plan, manage and execute robust HR strategies, policies and procedures
• Ensure HR administration is carried out in line with company policies and procedures
• Identify and schedule repairs and maintenance according to budget
