Cost Accountant

A new exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cost Accountant/ Management Accountant to join a successful company based in Medway. As the Cost Accountant you will provide sufficient financial insight to the business in order to ensure well informed operational decisions are made and improvement opportunities are identified.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will take full responsibility for the cost management analysis and reporting of the business. Key duties will include:

-Maintaining, reviewing and analysing the standard costs of production
-Providing analysis of cost and manufacturing variances
-Assisting in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory
-Unit cost reporting
-Energy and Inventory reporting
-Monitoring inventory transactions, and stock reconciliations
-Assisting with preparing the standard cost budget for the year as well as regular forecasts
-Playing an active role in the development of the ERP system

To be successful in your application for this role, you will have previous demonstrable experience of dealing with costings and stock within a manufacturing company.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills are all essential. Strong Excel and ERP system skills are a must.
