My client is an innovative scientific research company in Oxfordshire. They are currently seeking an experienced, part-qualified Project Accountant to join their Finance team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will have responsibility & ownership for the consolidation, controls and reporting processes for an £8m funded Global finance project. Prior experience of Financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting & compliance will be a key requirement.
As part of a busy Finance function you must display a Team-centric attitude and be willing to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders locally and globally.
Accuracy and attention to detail is key with this job. You will need to demonstrate your passion to think analytically and produce, reconcile, review & present financial information as part of a team, to ensure timely reporting deadlines are maintained.
Responsibilities :
*Manage accounting, budgeting and forecasting processes for the project
*Work as a business partner with key stakeholders.
*Providing reports and analysis to enhance understanding of the performance of the project
*Ensure that all project contracts and associated documentation is complete, authorised and stored under appropriate configuration management
*Prepare financial reports for both internal and external use
*Establish, implement and communicate policies, processes and controls to ensure that the requirements for financial control and reporting are met
*Act as a key contact for external auditors and respond to requests in order to fulfil the audit requirements of the project
*Ensure good financial controls and compliance with accounting procedures to satisfy audit requirements
Person Specification :
*Part qualified accountant or similar level by experience
*Strong academic record
*Strong technical accounting background
*Experience of project accounting and project reporting
*Experience of budgeting, forecasting and analysis of financial information
*Quantifiable record of assisting in establishing financial controls
*Robust character with ability to work to tight deadlines
*Advanced Excel skills.
*Strong personal organisation and business skills
*Good communication skills
*Proven ability to build internal & external relationships at all levels
*Willingness to travel
