Tax Accountant

An opportunity to join an international business based out of their South Bedfordshire offices. This role will give you exposure to working with experienced senior tax professionals who will help develop you tax skills and knowledge.


Key responsibilities in the role include

Preparing UK Corporation Tax Computations and dealing with HMRC enquiries;
Assisting in quarterly group reporting under US GAAP to include preparation of supporting spreadsheets, tax accounting including deferred tax;
Regular liaison with business units;
Involvement, on an ad hoc basis, with planning issues;
VAT support to the UK businesses;
Preparing UK corporation tax computations to an agreed timetable;
Dealing with other aspects of compliance for these companies e.g. preparation of statutory accounts tax notes;
Dealing with HMRC enquiries and other correspondence;
Maintenance of group structure chart;
Assisting the UK wide group with appropriate claims and elections;
Assistance with budget, quarterly and year end US GAAP group and other reporting in connection with selected UK companies;

The ideal candidate for this role

Qualified accountant with a minimum of 2 to 3 years post qualification experience;
Organised and motivated with strong interpersonal skills;
Strong general IT skills, mostly on excel and word;
Knowledge of group reporting consolidation packages and Onesource/Abacus tax reporting package an advantage;
Some knowledge of VAT;
Ability to work proactively;
Commercially aware;
