Group Head of Audit - Extensive travel with Rotation Contract (10 weeks home leave / annual leave per annum)
A private equity backed telecoms towers business is looking for an Internal Audit Manager to set-up and develop the internal audit function, to streamline and improve the controls environment of the group with a possible eye on a future listing. Based in London, there will be a requirement to travel to the operating companies’ business locations to carry out on-the-ground audits, as well as desktop testing and reporting to the group senior management from time-to-time in London.

Main responsibilities:
- Understand and proactively manage the risk environment by co-ordinating the Group risk management programme.
- Assess the Group's primary operational and financial risks and develop strategies to manage these areas.
- Responsible for setting the scope of work, targeting key risks across the Group as agreed with the Audit Committee. Prepare underlying audit programmes and schedules of work.
- Prepare high quality written reports for local management and the Audit Committee clearly describing the key findings and practical recommendations for improvements.
- Conduct on site assignments across a diverse range of businesses and control environments.
- Monitor the implementation of all actions identified and ensure best practice is spread across the organisation.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in risk management and provide appropriate guidance on the impact on the Group
Personal profile:
- Qualified accountant (ACA)
- Comprehensive internal audit and wider risk management experience, gained in a FTSE / PLC / Big 4 environment.
- Knowledge of PLC risk management regulations
- Knowledge of SOX
- A self-starter with the drive, energy, enthusiasm, determination and commitment to get things done.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines with the capacity to multi-task over several on-going projects.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Ability to work independently and build effective relationships with all levels of management.
- Happy to travel / work in Africa.
- French speaker preferred.
