Financial Accountant

Robertson Bell Finance are currently recruiting for 2 x security cleared Financial Accountants. This is a unique opportunity to join a central Government department based in London that is going through an exciting period of growth and change. Our client is looking to bring in interim support for a minimum period of 3 to 4 months over the year end period, with possibility of extension.

Working in a rapidly changing department as part of a small finance team you will be responsible for delivering a range of discrete projects which contribute to the overall assurance of the Departments annual accounts. Responsibilities include:

1.Quality assurance exercise over the year end accruals and prepayments
2.Completeness review of disclosures to be included in the accounts
3.Assurance exercise over material account areas and ensuring sufficient evidence is available to the NAO
4.Assisting in the asset verification exercise
5.Developing reconciliations for material account areas
6.Performing other ad-hoc operational finance and assurance activities to support the division.

This role requires SC level clearance.

In applying for this position, you will be a fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) accountant that currently holds or has held in the past SC level clearance. You must have experience working in a financial accounting function and dealing with the NAO. The ideal candidate will have exposure to working in public sector and available to start ASAP, short notice periods will be considered.
