The Opportunity

A fast growing telecommunications solutions business that works in partnership with exciting SMEs in the region is currently seeking an Interim Financial Controller to work in close cohesion with the CFO and leading a highly enthusiastic and frankly fantastic team of finance people of a mixture of levels. The company is currently really ramping up growth and, in under a year, their turnover has doubled – this is a result both of organic growth but also the two crucial acquisitions they have completed since the current CFO joined last year.

The Role

Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of the monthly management accounts and company board pack. The production of financial statements and statutory will also be headed up by you and the team. You will own the budgeting, forecast, and both long-term and short-term planning. An example of a key piece of work that you will lead when you start is the development of customer profitability analysis report.

Aside from the aforementioned things, strong management, leadership and mentoring skills are pivotal here as you will be managing a team of 3 that will require your attention and care to help them develop into more well-rounded and process driven accountants.

The Requirements

To apply for this role you will:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Have experience producing financial statements under IFRS.
  • Have recently worked within a small to medium sized business ideally in the telecoms sector.
  • Have managed teams of at least 3 people before, bringing them through the ranks and mentoring them.
  • Have very strong technical skills and key attention to detail, as well being as a self-sufficient, ‘can-do’ attitude to work, enabling you to tackle difficult tasks head-on, without relying on other senior members of the team to present you with solutions; this also means that you are someone who definitely knows how to ask the right questions.
