Project Accountant

Badenoch & Clark are working in partnership with a well-established company based out of West-Sussex towards the appointment of an innovative individual to assume the role of Project Accountant. Reporting into the Project Managers, the role functions to provide a comprehensive service of project control, reporting, and analysis.
As such, you must display exemplary levels of co-ordination and organisation as you will be required to prepare monthly project reports and analysis. Your insight will be pivotal in the development of the project and will be relied upon to ensure it's accuracy from cradle to grave, addressing all arising issues constructively.

Key Accountabilities:
* To keep the Project Manager informed and advise on billings, retentions, debtors and cash flow relating to individual projects
* To ensure the correct documentation and procedures have been complied with prior to either opening or closing a project on the system.
* To liaise with financial accounts and ensure that queries are followed up.
* To ensure inputs into the cost status reporting system are properly controlled and entered via the network
* To assist in reviewing and generating bid summaries for accuracy and compliance with company rates and mark ups
* To meet with project managers prior to the monthly review meetings to agree project status including contract values and estimates to completion
* To assist in the compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley policies and procedures.
* To advise the senior project accountant of any known variances or problems of significance which may affect the outcome of a project.

Essentials
*Part or fully qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
*Experience of Sarbanes-Oxley
*Strong Excel and system skills will be required.
*Ability to effectively communicate with other areas of the business and present to senior management both verbally and in written format
