Linkage is a registered charity which provides a high standard of care, specialist further education and employment services to enable people with learning disabilities to realise their full potential.

Established in 1976, Linkage owes its origins to the recognition that, for many people with varying degrees of learning difficulty, there is a shortage of appropriate support for them to lead creative and purposeful lives in the community.

Linkage is now under the direction of a new CEO with exciting & ambitious plans that need to be enacted as per the vision of the board.

Detailed Job Description

As the Director of Finance and Resources within Spilsby this individual will be both leading the finance team and working closely with the senior leadership team.

This successful candidate will be managing the finance function, I.T and estates and will be supported in this by a team.

Provide strong and dynamic leadership of the Charity, ensuring delivery of an outstanding service and experience for students/clients that allow them to have opportunity and choice and are supported to achieve their aspirations.

Ensure that the strategic development of the Charity is underpinned by a comprehensive and coherent financial management strategy, and acts as the risk champion.

Accountable for the effective planning, monitoring and control of the Charity's finances, properties and estates/ and IT services to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.

Candidate's Profile

Whilst commercial drive is important, it is equally important this individual has a passion for the charitable cause and can fit culturally within this environment.

The ideal candidate for the Director of Finance and Resources role will have the following attributes:

  • Strong accounting experience & qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Hands on and detail orientated in their approach
  • Experience of managing a finance team
  • The ability to commercially and financially assess the financial risk and implications of a business decisions
  • Confident and self-assured, without being overbearing
  • Ability to challenge, be challenged, and build an open relationship with senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a small company environment and able to integrate themselves into the wider team
  • The ability to transform a finance from a support function into a decision support function that can really add value
