Who we are looking for 

You’re a part / newly qualified accountant who can’t wait to showcase the skills they’ve learned so far.  You know how to develop effective standardised and highly automated reporting with commentary and how to provide sales, margin and labour analysis that explains the key levers of performance for your business.  Add this to your strong presentation skills and your rounded financial understanding along with any relevant experience you’ve gained so far (working in the finance team of a large multi-site retail or hospitality business) will all ensure you are set up and ready to tackle supporting the Reporting Manager on all business unit reporting needs- driving standardisation and accuracy across the group and in all business unit outputs.

A bit about the role 

You’ll delight our teams with your timely, relevant and accurate reports complimented by your meaningful and actionable commentary leaving them feeling in control of their numbers.  You’ll develop and use standardised processes to analyse and explain performance whilst actively benchmarking to help develop a commercial support framework for challenging performance - all of which will enable the teams them to understand the performance of our business both in their area and across Costa.  By responding to requests for information and providing ad hoc reporting and analysis you’ll ensure our teams are satisfied and confident that they can get what they need when they need it. You’ll also reduce the pressure on our divisional finance teams by providing them with forecasts, budgets and other analysis so that they have the capacity to focus on business partnering activities.  Your support will be critical and pivitol in helping drive our business to the next level.  In short - you’ll:

  • provide accurate, timely and actionable management information
  • provide ad hoc financial analysis
  • provide support on forecasting, budgets and analysis

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • a financial qualification (ACA/ACMA/ACCA) with PQE
  • experience of working in the finance team of a large company.  
  • strong analytical, forecasting, Excel, presentation and relationship-building skills
  • proven experience of communicating complicated information in an easy-to-understand way.
