Tax Manager

Cambridge, United Kingdom – Our client is an acquisitive plc which is enjoying a period of considerable growth and is now seeking to recruit a Tax Manager.

This newly created role will be reporting to the Group Financial Controller and will be responsible for all aspects of tax compliance within the Group and for managing relationships with external tax advisors and HMRC.

As Tax Manager, you will support the Group Financial Accountant and Group Financial Controller in the performance of their duties with specific responsibility for:

• VAT returns and reporting
• VAT advisory
• Employment tax advisory and compliance
• Corporation Tax compliance, including deferred tax for 30+ statutory entities
• Tax planning and forecasting (ETR, cash flow)
• External reporting of tax (IFRS and FRS102)
• Liaison with external tax advisors and auditors
• Capital allowances
• Tax projects
• SAO compliance and assurance
• Business restructuring and legal entity reorganisations
• Transaction support and PSA returns

As Tax Manager you will be expected to take an active part in the development of any tax related internal controls and processes by supporting, developing and promoting best practice and new initiatives. You will support the Group Financial Accountant and other Senior members of the finance team with GAAP Developments and will take the lead on tax risk management and tax cost mitigation initiatives. 

The successful candidate will be a qualified Tax professional (ACA/ACCA/CTA) with strong technical knowledge of a broad range of taxation including corporation tax, indirect tax and employment tax and have the ability to relay this information to senior stakeholders. Interested candidates will be currently working in a top accounting practice and looking to make their first move into industry and commerce or will currently be in a similar role within industry and looking to take the next step in their career.
