Accountant

Our client, a £4 billion turnover manufacturer are seeking an accountant to join the team for a 10 month FTC and a high likelihood of the role being extended further or turning permanent. The business are going through a period of growth with ambitions for further growth. We are looking for someone who is seeking to develop their career with this business as this position would be fast tracked to become the next Financial Controller. This role would have a broad scope exposing you to all aspects of finance from the assisting with the preparation of month-end accounts and contributing towards the continuing drive to improve internal controls and procedures, to the day-to-day Bookkeeping posting, Accounts receivable and Accounts payable ledgers,

The successful candidate will be involved with the following:

Month-end process and other tasks:

* Maintain bank records & petty cash
* Maintain fixed asset register
* Maintain and reconcile intercompany accounts
* Prepare and post month-end journals
* Assist in preparation of month-end accounts, working towards preparing accounts-to-trial balance for review
* Monthly reconciliation Balance Sheet and P&L accounts and support the preparation of management accounts
* Completion of quarterly VAT return & EC & Intrastat Sales lists
* Assist in devising and implementing internal controls & SOX Controls
* Assist in preparation of yearly statutory accounts
* Maintain and document all finance processes and procedures
* Provide back-up support for dealers using our on-line ordering system
* Miscellaneous projects as assigned

The ideal candidate would have the following:

* Part qualified ACCA / CIMA or equivalent
* High level of PC literacy, Microsoft Excel essential
* Hyperion Essbase, Microsoft DAX Dynamics a plus
* Manufacturing experience would be desirable.
