An outstanding opportunity to join a household name FTSE 100 retailer for a top calibre, Big 4 or Top 10 trained ACA with strong Financial Controls and Risk experience in large organisation.

This is a high profile position with exposure to the Finance Director and Head of Financial Control and focussed on developing a best in class control environment. The successful individual will be considered as top talent for fast-track progression to Manager/Controller Level and further opportunity across Finance and Commercial teams.

Key responsibilities:
-Provide assurance to the Business on the adequacy and effectiveness of key financial controls by gaining a good understanding of financial and business processes through performance of walkthroughs, assessing the design and operational effectiveness of financial controls the business has self-assessed on, and documentation of reliable and accurate testing results.
-Provide assurance to the Finance Director, Director Financial Control and Head of Finance, to sign off on quarterly control self-assessments to Group Finance, asserting that the UK, Dublin and Germany businesses have a robust financial controls framework in place.
-Tracking of action plans for control deficiencies identified, rolling out training and providing guidance to the business, embedding internal controls and undertaking ad hoc tasks or projects, as required.
-Ensuring timely and full implementation of recommended control improvements; maintain and report on the effectiveness of, and compliance with Policies and Procedures.
-Support the overall Group Vision on Financial controls to improve the operation and design of controls

We are seeking a graduate with excellent academics from a top university and ACA qualified ideally with first time passes wither making a first or second move from a role in a Big 4 or Top 10 firm. Candidates who are coming straight from a Consulting or with Controls experience in a FTSE 100 / 250 equivalent organisation are also highly desirable.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the core principles of end to end financial processes. You will also have broad understanding of business processes, evaluating risks and designing and implementing controls. Experience of project work, driving process change / improvements and Risk processes and Frameworks is essential.

From an interpersonal perspective we are seeking a confident, dynamic and ambitious individual with outstanding communication skills. You will be highly organised with the ability to influence a variety of stakeholders.
