Investment Manager - Film & TV
Cutting edge media business are looking for an Investment Manager with a focus on Film & TV. Primarily assisting the Fund Head in pitching for, sourcing, winning and closing TV deals across various Film and TV funds, and all post-closing work in relation to those deals, including assisting with collections and reporting in respect of the investor-facing aspects of the relevant funds.
Key Accountabilities
- Being able to source, run and close confirmed Film and TV production and/or lending deals from both domestic and international partners
- Taking ownership of potential deals, pitching, quoting and steering successful pitches through to closing including any financial analysis required
- Establishing and developing relationships with new producers, distributors, sales agents and other financiers, in order to source new deals whilst maintaining existing relationships
- Ensuring the timely deployment of capital raised, including identifying suitable transactions, negotiating and executing those transactions, and monitoring deal pipeline and transaction progress
- Liaising with the applicable sales champion or other distribution function over the fund raising and providing necessary support (including attending sales meetings as commercial representative and providing input on sales materials)
- Fund administration and reporting up to Fund Head on returns and deployment
- Managing the portfolio of closed deals, including monitoring costs and revenues, managing foreign currency deals, maintaining relationships with deal partners and reporting to investors
- Managing the product development process from start to finish ("delivery" to the distribution function, complete with all necessary marketing materials)
- Assisting with the winding up of the products, or other exit
- Managing legal and compliance responsibilities and obligations for transactions and products
- Working closely with other stakeholders across the business to ensure that all fund objectives are met
Role Requirements
- Film/TV production and financing with a legal, fund management or banking background
- Strong academics both at A levels and degree level
- Self-motivated, highly organised and ability to work on multiple workstreams at once
- Detailed knowledge of the film and TV industries
- Excellent communicator (both in writing and face to face)
- Ability to work within a highly regulated environment
- Some knowledge of the investment environment is useful
- Ability to work within a team
