Our client is well underway with a significant residential development scheme with a wide array of established on-site facilties and already earning a reputation for exceptionally high expectations and standards. The Project has almost reached an operational mass in terms of resident numbers, facilities brand awareness and attracted residents from around the world and there is now a need to build on these hard-earned successes and drive the Project forward to a build out status within 5 years.
They are now seeking a candidate of suitable calibre to assume the role of Chief Executive. This role will require a hands-on approach by an individual with excellent man-management experience as well as build project experience. This is not a 9-5 role and the successful candidate will be based on the island [for which accommodation can be provided if needed]. The developers are very hands on and require total commitment to the overall project from its Chief Executive.
Reporting to an off-site board, your responsibilities will be wide and extremely varied and will include the following:
- Multimillion Dollar Build Project Management
- Supply chain management.
- Management Reporting and working to strict timescales and intense deadlines.
- Understand and form relationships with local planning/property tax departments and key personnel
- Man-management skills and local sub-contractor appointments/management
- Base management accountancy skills, community, build and purchasing related
- Resort or Community management.
- Collaborate at all times with the various departments including but not limited to Accounts, Sales and Marketing, Human Resources and Marina Operations, conduct weekly meetings with departmental heads
- Carry out evaluation of departmental heads
- Ensure optimum condition and maintenance of the development at all times including and ensuring that all health and safety requirements are complied with
- Ensure high employee moral, motivation and welfare
- Provide monthly (or at other times) reports to the Board
In order to succeed in this very challenging yet highly rewarding role the successful candidate is likely to have the following:
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a leadership position encompassing accounts, project management, and sales and marketing.
- A minimum of Five (5) years high level operating experience in an operating environment to that of the position now being offered
- Bachelor’s Degree Business, Project Management or a related field or equivalent work experience
- Pro-active management style that looks beyond problems and current practices to develop solutions, to maximise the success and profitability of the development.
- Previous experience of working in a similar resort setting
