Systems Management Accountant

My client an established mid-tier legal firm with offices in London and internationally are seeking to recruit a Systems Management Accountant to their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable firm, and become a pivotal member of the senior finance team.

You will be responsible for driving the implementation of the new practice management system, and once live ensuring the continued development, and support is provided to the finance team.

The role will involve;

• Advising on the design of the financial aspects of the PMS and building best practice procedures
• Planning, designing and delivering various tests on the new PMS system
• Working closely alongside a system accountant to ensure the implementation is a success
• Identify improvements and developments for PMS system
• Main point of contact for system training within the finance team and firm
• Providing financial analysis and reporting - including forecasting, controls and cash flow management
• Responsible for WIP and ensuring debtors against targets are met to enable future decision making
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and providing analysis of fee earner against budget

The ideal candidate for this role shall be

• A Qualified Accountant
• Have worked within a similar position recently for a legal/professional services business
• Have experience of implementing a new PMS system within the last 5 years
• Enthusiastic, proactive individual
• Advanced Excel - including pivot tables and database queries
• Problem-solver and analytical and able to demonstrate this
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, as well as being confident training co-workers
• Desirable experience of SQL queries, and reporting tools including SSRS and SSAS
