Seymour John are working directly with a leading Engineering organisation to recruit a Project Accountant on a permanent basis. We are specifically looking for individuals with a strong background in Civil Engineering or major infrastructure projects.You will be reporting directly into the UK Project Accounting Manager, whilst acting as a true Business Partner to both the Project and Engineering team.

You will be responsible for the financial control and reporting of a number of global capital projects and aftermarket business. This will be in addition to the maintenance of project accounting records in Excel workbooks utilising the POC accounting method. 

An important requirement will be to attend the monthly/quarterly internal project management meetings to obtain and share information for the preparation of contract accounting records. Additionally, you will take responsibility for the preparation of the monthly management accounts including variance commentary for contracts in scope, whilst ensuring consistent and robust financial reporting across contracts in scope. The development and improvement of the existing financial systems to make processes more user friendly is a key requirement

To be considered for this position, you must be a qualified Accountant with three to five years post qualified experience. A background in Engineering is essential, as is previous experience of working across multi-currency contracts. 

Process improvement and implementation knowledge is also required along with the ability to Business Partner with both internal and external stakeholders. Strong IT skills are essential, particularly working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
