Head of Finance

Your new company:
A grant giving charity with an income of over £70m. This organisation has a Royal Charter and is committed to the furthering of learning and research. The organisation has a very strong reputation and is well respected amongst the academic community.

Your new role:
The Head of Finance will report to the CFO and manage a team of 8 including two direct reports. The Head of Finance is responsible for the delivery of a 'best in class' financial operation for the organisation. Through your leadership of the Finance team and with the support of the CFO, you will ensure that financial processes in place are robust, efficient and effective. You will ensure that management and statutory financial information is accurate, timely and fit for purpose. You will drive a culture of continuous improvement through effective leadership of the team, strong communication skills and ongoing review of the control environment.

What you'll need to succeed:
The ideal candidate for this role will be a confident people manager who is comfortable working in a 'hands on' way to ensure the operational side of the finance department. You will be a qualified accountant (ACA or other recognised accountancy qualification). The role will suit a very bright individual with the ability to communicate with others in a clear and confident manner.
