Management Accountant

Our client is a respected and long-established business with well-appointed offices in St Neots

Due to increased growth within the company they are now recruiting for someone to join the team providing key support in a management and cost accounting capacity.

Reporting to the Financial Controller your role will be varied and duties will include;

• Assisting with month end close for the business
• Reconciliation and review of month end balance sheet reconciliations
• Review of bank reconciliations
• Fixed asset register management
• Foreign exchange postings
• Review of VAT, intrastat, EC sales and workings
• Maintenance of process and systems documentation
• Process improvements
• Assisting with and occasionally leading budgeting and forecasting
• Intercompany balance reconciliations
• Looking at ways to improve process efficiencies
• Assisting with the production of statutory accounts and annual audit
• Ad hoc projects

The suitable candidate will ideally be qualified (or equivalent), but part qualified, active studiers will also be considered as a study package is on offer if appropriate.

An analytical and commercial acumen is essential for this role as is the ability to communicate across varying levels of the business, focusing your workload and prioritising as appropriate.  Exposure to SME working practices and environments is also very important.

Advanced Excel skills are very important and experience of an ERP system would be a distinct advantage as would experience of working in the manufacturing or distribution industries.

The non-negotiable criteria for this role above all is to be someone who questions and has the desire to develop and improve processes and doesn't just accept the status quo for the sake of it.
