My client is a major force within the UK Financial Services industry holding multi-billion life and pension assets.  They are wholly owned by a global giant who is keen to fund major acquisitions which drive future growth, whilst creating a stimulating environment to challenge and develop your career.

Role Purpose:

  • To be a member of the finance senior management team reporting directly into the Chief Financial Officer with responsibility for leading the statutory and regulatory reporting teams, together with responsibility for the implementation of the Line 1 risk activities including the implementation of the FRR controls framework.
  • This is a strategic role with ownership of the external and internal statutory and regulatory reporting metrics and working to ensure all external stakeholders understand and use the reporting in strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Together with the rest of the finance senior management team, responsibility for considering and implementing departmental strategy and ensuring that the different teams within the department are proactively working together to make the department as efficient as possible.  Also, proactively addressing the issues from the Employee Engagement Survey for Finance to improve engagement with the team.
  • Leading a team of technical accountants and controls specialists to complete all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, both internal and external, within a robust control environment.  Support, as required, the statutory and regulatory impact of acquisitions and manage any statutory and regulatory integration activity.
  • Developing internal relationships with the actuarial and group reporting functions to ensure effective and timely reporting is completed.  Developing external relationships with the auditors, regulators and appropriate industry bodies.
  • Working alongside the Exec members, managing and developing key relationships within the business and wider Group to ensure objectives are aligned and managed within deadlines.
The successful candidate will be ACA qualified and of Big 4 pedigree with experience of working in a Financial Services regulated environment.  Ideally you will have experience of regulatory reporting in a Life / Pensions business.  This is very much a leadership role and you will be expected to move around the business covering different areas in due course.  You will have energy and passion, you will be an ambitious individual capable of progressing your career far beyond this role.
