Finance Director

Our client is an innovative, rapidly growing digital media business which works with an impressive list of corporate businesses. The organisation has experienced expansion both within the UK and internationally. They have a strong management team and now seek a Finance Director to take fully ownership of finance and work closely with the COO and CEO. This is a high-profile role and the Finance Director will be a key player in the ongoing success and development of the company.

The Finance Director will be responsible for all financial reporting and control as well as providing commercial insight and analysis to support the strategic growth of the business.

Day-to-day responsibilities include;

●          Oversight of the of monthly management and stat accounting processes

●          Managing and growing the finance team (currently 3)

●          Ownership of financial accounting system (Netsuite) and associated controls and processes; proactive, continuous optimisation and customisation of financial processes

●          Management of the treasury function, including cash management, cashflow forecasting, and management of the working capital cycle

●          Managing relationships with banks and providers of financing

●          Acting as primary point of contact for the company’s auditors

●          Management of cost control, expenses and compliance with financial policies

●          Oversight of payroll, NI, employee benefits; tax compliance; VAT returns

●          Consolidation of international accounts; management of corporate structures and subsidiaries from an accounting perspective

●          Management of R&D tax credit reporting and filing of applications

Candidates should be a qualified accountant with significant experience at a senior level in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial business. They should have financial control skills, be expert at implementing and optimising financial systems & processes, and have a proactive hands-on approach, with the ability to lead, influence and communicate with a wide audience. Importantly, they should have an entrepreneurial spirit and credibility with investors.

The ideal candidate will have a background in digital media or advertising, or at least within a technology business; experience of high-growth, rapidly changing environments; and proven ability to manage working capital cycles proactively. Ideally candidates will have some experience of dealing with investors, but if not then the strength of character and speed of response to build these relationships quickly.

This is a truly commercial role but with a strong requirement to be extremely hands on with day-to-day finance. The new Finance Director will have responsibility across the business at the highest level and will play a key part in the continued growth and success of the company.
