I am recruiting a hands on SME Financial Controller for a Not for Profit organisation based in Central Manchester. Whilst a small company in turnover terms, they have a global presence and are backed by a number of large branded organisations within the sector. Reporting to the COO the job will take full financial responsibility for the operation and its parent charity company as well as line managing a small team of 1-2.
In more detail, the job will take overall responsibility for the day to day accounting and financial management of the budgets, ensuring fit for purpose processes and controls, full compliance with company and charity law, and present financial accounts and other statutory returns and reporting requirements under FRS and SORP.
The day to day management of finance will include forecasting, managing and reporting on the budget, cash flow and other treasury management to ensure funds are available for operational needs. You will be technically competent to ensure the VAT and tax issues are dealt with to avoid any risk to the organisation.
From a commercial perspective, you will input into business planning, financial forecasting and commercial decision making, securing best value. Lead on contract management, ensuring that suitable agreements are in place with partners, suppliers and customers. You will look to design and develop financial processes and controls and ensure continuous improvement on the Sage financial system and lead on the year end and subsequent audit.
You will be a hands on Financial Manager from an SME or similar sized organisation to have given you the breadth of experience needed for this type of role. You will be a full qualified accountant and be able to communicate at all levels both internally and external to the business, translating finance for non-finance professionals where relevant. You must have strong Excel skills and be conversant with Sage financial software. The organisation is looking for a start with short notice ideally, so this would be extremely beneficial.
The organisation is centrally placed for public transport in Manchester for both trains, trams and buses. The job comes with a generous holiday package, and flexible working hours for a 37 hour week. There is also a subsidised parking scheme and travel to work loans etc.
If you are interested in this role and fit the job profile, please call me as soon as possible.
