The role: Group Financial Controller & Head of Shared Services

The Group Financial Controller & Head of Shared Services role is a senior management role and forms part of the finance leadership team. Reporting to the CFO the role takes ownership for all internal and external reporting to Group including management accounts, financial accounts, production of financial statements as well as transaction reporting, which sits within the shared service function and covers:

-        Accounts Payable 

-        Accounts Receivable 

-        Order to cash 

-        Payroll 

Key responsibilities of the Group Financial Controller & Head of Shared Services include:

  • Accounting and Financial reporting according to Group and Local GAAP.
  • Company period end closing incl. statutory reporting and compliance. Reporting correct in time is important.
  • Improving and establishing a robust control framework.
  • Management accounting & budget setting.
  • Tax administration and compliance incl. transfer pricing execution.
  • Legal entity cash pool set-up with direction from Group Treasury.
  • Legal entity liquidity forecast & planning including coordination with business and Group Treasury.
  • Close management of transaction reporting including process & system change.
  • Driving a continuous improvement environment.
  • Delivery of a significant amount of project work to drive improvements across finance.

The candidate:

  • A qualified accountant with a strong academic background and previous experience in a similar role to the Group Financial Controller & Head of Shared Services.
  • Proven leadership and change management skills

  • The ability to get into the detail as well as the strategy
  • An understanding of what good looks like.
  • The ability to develop into a Finance Director.
