Elevation Senior Finance are currently looking to recruit an experienced and Financial Controller for an exciting rapidly growing facility business based in Leeds.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the primary purpose of the role will be to oversee the finance and administration team and ensure the smooth operation of the accounting and admin function within the company. As well as this, the successful candidate will be required to assist the MD in business planning/strategy, supporting decision making from a financial perspective. The aim will be for the successful candidate to progress to Finance Director within 18 months of appointment.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Line management of the Finance and Administration team (consisting of 10 staff members)
*Prepare & present monthly/quarterly/annual management accounts to the directors, providing meaningful commentary and report fully on variances to budget ad-hoc reports and financial information as required
*Cash flow management, ensuring the income and spend of the organisation is supported by the necessary cash requirements
*Act as first point of contact with bank and auditors
*Track and determine financial status by analysing actual results in comparison forecasts
*Ensure that the client account team are meeting deadlines, SLA's and delivering the highest quality service to both external and internal customers
*Oversee all monthly and quarterly corporate client reporting
*Attend meetings as required with corporate clients
*Management of the general ledger including preparation and input of prepayments, and accruals and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
*Leading on budgeting and forecasting, working closely with line managers and budget holders to develop annual budgets along with supporting reports to explain subsequent changes in budget requests
*Ensuring the Fixed assets of the Group are accurately recorded and depreciated in accordance with the Group's accounting policies
*Be fully conversant with the rules and regulations covering statutory periodic returns. Ensure internal risk controls are appropriate and enforceable
*Ensure all statutory taxes and other payments etc (e.g. corporation tax, VAT) are reported and paid within the correct time frame
*Debtor management. Lead on the recovery of outstanding fees
*Assisting the Managing Director in developing the company and its activities, providing financial information that can aid decision making and assisting in the identification of trends as well as implementation of performance indicators
*Proactively leading and implementing changes to processes and procedures which will improve the functionality of the administration of the company and its financial systems
The successful candidate will require the following:
*Ideally ACA qualified but would consider ACCA Qualified
*Strong technical skills gained in practice, ideally with a Big 4/Top 10 accounting firm
*Proven track record leading the finance function in a growing business
*Ability to communicate cross-functionally at all levels of a business
*A proactive nature, embracing change and acting upon business improvement opportunities
