An exciting new accounting vacancy has arisen and they are currently looking to recruit a Management Accountant to support the Financial Controller and work closely with operational managers to drive efficiency and financial awareness throughout the business. The ideal candidate for this role will possess excellent communication skills, the credibility to build working relationships across the organisation and the ability to manage teams to achieve company objectives.

The Management  Accountant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the month end management and commercial reporting process
  • Analysis and interpretation of results, challenging variances and preparing commentary
  • Manage monthly preparation of journals associated with cost of sales, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets etc.
  • Reporting on intercompany transactions
  • Sales & margin analysis, calculating WIP, write offs etc.
  • Review balance sheet and perform monthly reconciliations
  • Support revenue billing and debt collection processes
  • Implementing internal control improvements and ensuring best practice

Suitable candidates for this Management Accountant role in Chorley must have a relevant accounting qualification (CIMA / ACCA /ACA) with a minimum of two years PQE. Good IT skills, in particular Excel and MS Dynamics / NAV along with the ability to adapt and improve internal systems and processes. Previous experience in a Management Accountant  or Finance Manager type position in a busy, high volume transaction environment would be particularly useful.

The role is expected to make a significant impact on the delivery of the business’s Financial, Commercial and Operational strategy through the provision of accurate and timely business information. This is a new vacancy in finance for the business and you will be expected to attend meetings with non-finance staff, develop a deep understanding around the commercial drivers of the business and become a trusted Finance Business Partner to the senior management team.
