Financial Accountant

The SF Group is currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant for a global business in Burton. This business has witnessed a number of years of organic growth, acquisition, international expansion, and consolidation, and is an exciting place to work as a result.

The Financial Accountant will provide financial support to the Group Finance Manager and prepare analysis on the group’s performance. You will also assist with the monthly group consolidation and assist in the day to day operations of the group finance function.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Support the group month end consolidation process and analyse and interpret supplementary information to identify trends
• Prepare bespoke reports for external stakeholders
• Support the preparation and submission of the UK VAT returns and liaise with HMRC as required
• Prepare and develop strategic reports with detailed analysis of business performance across all areas of the business
• Set up of new legal entities as required ensuring appropriate incorporation and registration in accordance with local laws
• Preparation of specific month end reconciliations

The ideal person for this role would be an ambitious Accountant from a small to medium sized practice who wants to take their first step into industry or a Finance Accountant in industry who is looking to join a company where they can develop their skills further and move up the career ladder.

Some of the key criteria you will need to meet are:

• AAT Qualified, and studying towards CIMA or ACCA (or equivalent)
• Strong problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Ability to work in a team
• Strong Excel skills
• Good all-round numerical and financial skills
