Finance Analyst
Our client is a multi-award winning business recognised for its innovative approach and ablity to respond to the lucrative and growing market that they serve. Following significant investment into the business, they are seeking a Financial Analyst to provide accurate and data-based information on the company’s profitability, solvency, stability and liquidity. The Financial Analyst will research and analyze financial information to help the company make well-informed decisions, write reports, and monitor financial movements.
Job Description:
- Analyse financial status by collecting, monitoring, and studying data; recommending actions.
Job Duties:
- Determine cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data.
- Identify financial status by comparing and analysing actual results with plans and forecasts.
- Guide cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.
- Improve financial status by analysing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management. Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis
- Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models
- Identify trends, advise the company and recommend actions to a senior financial analyst based on sound analysis
- Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts
- Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data
- Gain and update job knowledge to remain informed about novelty in the field
- Consult with management to guide and influence long-term and strategic decision-making within the broadest scope
- Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function
- Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data.
- Maintain database by entering, verifying, and backing-up data.
- Recommend actions by analysing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials.
- Increase productivity by developing automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- BA Accounting required
- Qualified Accountant or MBA strongly preferred
- Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications
- Hands-on experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages
- Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
- Well-informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market and business environments
- 5 years proven experience in financial analysis
- Experience in preparing financial presentations
- Experience and knowledge in several functions within Finance (Budgeting, Consolidation, Performance Reporting and Financial analysis).
- Must have excellent communications skills
- Must be able to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects at a time.
