My clients are a leading mid-tier law firm based in the heart of central London. With the current implementation of a new practice management system the firm are looking to recruit a permanent finance systems accountant to lead the implementation and provide continuous development of the system as well as support the FD With monthly financial reporting duties.
Duties and responsibilities:
-Reporting to the Finance Director
-Drive the implementation of the finance elements of a new PMS.
-Develop and enhance the system, providing on-going advice and support to other members of the Finance team and partners/employees regarding use of the system.
-Advising on the design of the finance aspects of a new PMS to incorporate best practice financial processes and procedures
-Reviewing of reporting requirements and working with new PMS provider to develop reports within the new system
-Planning, designing and delivering various suitability tests of the new system including Data Validation and User Acceptance Testing
-Become the expert super-user and training staff members on how to use the new systems
-Identify and plan improvements and developments
-Forecasting, control and monitoring of cash flow
-Monitoring control of WIP and debtors and making recommendations for improvements
-Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts
-Ad hoc financial analysis
-Ensuring compliance with Solicitor's Accounts Rules and HMRC regulations
-Assisting with month end/year end billing and other finance processes as required
-Assist with any other finance projects or reporting requirements as requested by the Finance Director
Person Specifications:
-Experience with implementation of a new system within the last 5 years
-Qualified Accountant with strong management accounts experience
-Enthusiasm and energy with a proactive approach
-Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and database queries
-Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills
-Excellent communication skills
