Reporting to the GB Head of Finance FD, the Finance Business Partner (FBP) will actively participate in the leadership of their designated Business area within the business.

The FBP will assist in the delivery of its business objectives through a deep understanding of the business and will also provide a link between their designated Business area and the GB Finance team in relation to all finance functions, ensuring robust financial control and business analysis.

As a member of the Finance team supporting Business Unit Leadership Team the FBP will be responsible for the delivery of the core financial strategic and business planning, reporting and forecasting processes to ensure the business unit has a robust plan to achieve its objectives supported by low level accountability assignment to members of the business unit.

The role requires relevant technical accounting knowledge, a strong control and change focus, a strategic mind-set, people management, influencing and networking skills, and the ability to work in a matrix managed organisation.

The FBP will build strong relationships and a deep understanding of the business and the drivers of profitable growth. Providing high quality advice, information, analysis and interpretation to the business the FBP will enable effective decision making and meaningful Performance management. The FBP will also play a key role in financial control processes around revenue and incentives.
 

Experience/ Requirements

Essential

  • Professional accountancy qualification - ACA, CCA CIMA or equivalent
  • Experience in commercial, business facing, finance roles
  • Experience in partnering either business teams / functions / roles
  • Proactive self-starter
  • Track record of improving MI, process, impacting business performance and results
  • Comfortable dealing with variety of individuals, levels, personalities, and dealing with conflict
  • Able to manage the detail
  • Will need to have the confidence, credibility and gravitas to guide the business unit agenda, and to drive delivery of certain aspects of the business plan - such as driving and monitoring accountability for results in teams, and actively pursuing delivery of revenue and expense challenges and targets given to business unit leaders
