THE COMPANY:
Brewster Pratap are recruiting an experienced Part Qualified Assistant Management Accountant for a large, multi million pound organisation, based at their Sheffield office. Close to the motorway they are commutable from Rotherham, Barnsley and Chesterfield.
THE JOB:
This role is a fantastic opportunity for a part qualified candidate who will be responsible for the management accounting of operational profit centres across the Company. Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Managing the weekly production of costings for several profit centres within the site
Submitting weekly costings and KPI information to Operations and Head Office
Creating and maintaining accurate MI for the operational team
Producing monthly management accounts for all profit centres
Investigating and explaining variances in the management accounts
Producing monthly review pack of financial and operational management information for discussion with customers at review meetings
Producing annual budgets and periodic reforecasts for all profit centres
Invoicing and credit control customers and updating company cash forecast
Dealing with site suppliers including self-billing subcontract hauliers on a weekly basis
Maintaining accurate purchase ordering
Providing holiday cover for T&A system
Numerous ad-hoc reports and project tasks as required (from the Site General Manager / Commercial Accounting Manager)
THE PERSON:
You will be studying towards a professional qualification ACA/ACCA/CIMA
Experience in accounts preparation, including journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and income deferral is essential
You will be a good communicator at all levels up to and including Operational Managers and Directors, customers, suppliers and other internal staff
You will have good attention to detail and an analytical approach
You will have a questioning and enquiring approach with a real desire to seek out new methods that will allow more efficient provision of accurate financial data
The ability to work on your own initiative or part of a team is essential
You will be hard working and flexible with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines
You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
The ability to coach and mentor at different levels within the Company, to provide an understanding of finance to non -finance staff is required
You must have a willingness to learn about the Company and industry with a desire to excel and develop
