A fantastic opportunity for a skilled accountant to join as a stock accountant, within a growing retail business
Finance Manager Responsibilities
- Management of a team of 5
- Provide accounting support and expertise to the business around the key areas of revenue, profit recognition and stock management
- Ensure financial advice is provided as key decision support for commercial areas of the business
- Key SME for the delivery of the upcoming ERP change (Oracle to SAP)
- Responsible for managing the month end close activity to ensure the P&L and Balance Sheet is reported accurately
- Responsibility for the financial management of related risks and opportunities
- Ensuring that all accounting entries processed adhere to internal controls and accounting policies
- Utilising ERP Reporting databases to streamline monthly gross margin reconciliation processes
- Ad-hoc support of the Internal and External Audit processes & providing expertise and advice as required
- Driving and supporting Continuous Improvement of processes in the finance team
Requirements
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or overseas equivalent)
- Financial accounting and control skills gained within a large, complex organisation
- Recent team management experience
- Highly PC literate, particularly Excel & used to dealing with high volume, complex data manipulation
- High attention to detail and an ability to review work quickly and accurately
- Organised self starter with ability to plan & prioritise ones own workload
- Will take ownership for issues and tackle them proactively with colleagues
- Excellent communication and team building skills
- Proactive and able to review business processes in order to effect & instigate plans for future improvement
- Experience of using an integrated ERP system
