Finance Manager

International Car Manufacturer / Qualified Accountant / Business Partner / Operational accounting / Excellent Opportunity

This is a new vacancy for a qualified accountant to join the successful, global car manufacturer at their busy Wolverhampton site.  This is an excellent opportunity to add value to the management reporting processes whilst developing and maintaining excellent business partnerships.  The post holder will have the opportunity to get involved with key commercial decision making and be project lead in cross-plant improvement activities.

This is a supper opportunity and will be offered as a long term contract to begin with and will run until a permanent person is appointed.  The post holder may apply for the permanent position.

Responsibilities:

• Provision of weekly and monthly key management information, both physical and financial data
• Lead cost reviews with operating managers to discuss & interpret the data and identify & advise on future actions ¿
• Review, analysis and approval of operating expenditure requests (P2P, Lyreco) ¿
• Month end accounting ¿ including journal preparation and variance analysis & explanation
• Project lead in cross- plant process improvement & alignment activities 
• Financial cost management of EMC MP&L expenses including budgeting, forecasting and variance reporting

Skills and Requirements:

• Qualified accountant
• Manufacturing background
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong IT skills particularly Excel
• Understanding of cost reviews, month end reporting and cost management
