An International, private equity backed manufacturing business is recruiting a Finance Manager to join its growing business based close to Warrington. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Big 4/Top 10 trained ACA qualified accountant looking to really progress their career. With a supportive FD mentor, this role is ideally suited to a first or second time mover from Practice, offering a breadth of exposure and unrivalled career progression as the role offers development to a number one finance role in 3 years.

  
Your prime role will be to prepare the management accounts, Group consolidation and supporting monthly schedules in line with the Group timetable to a high, professional standard. Outside of the reporting week, the main focus of the role will be on analysis of performance data and providing decision support to the Company’s Management along with continuous improvement of routines and controls. Reporting to the Finance Director, your role will cover the following;

  • On time preparation of monthly management accounts, group reporting pack and supporting schedules


  • Thorough reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts to supporting documents ensuring corrective action is taken to resolve any and prevent re-occurrence of differences


  • Analysis of the monthly, weekly data in a timely and presentable manner to allow the Management to understand current performance to be able to take action where necessary


  • Ownership of the company’s standard costing system and subsequent variance analysis


  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts


  • Meet the reporting requirements for external sources for e.g. VAT, PAYE, Intrastat, National Statistics, Pensions, etc


  • Assist the Finance Director by coordinating IT activities on site in conjunction with external providers


  • Proactively drive tax initiatives in support of the Group’s CT strategy


  • Lead the audits and other tasks required for completion of the Group statutory accounts


  • Preparation of monthly payrolls


  • Proactively and tightly manage the Group’s cash and working capital


  • Any other ad-hoc tasks as advised by the Finance Director.
