It has 10 manufacturing plants across the US, Europe, China and India and is one of the worlds leading suppliers to the agriculture, nutrition, pharmaceutical, fine chemicals, medical, personal care, plastics and coatings markets as well as many more. Their products are in things you use every day - toothpaste, deodorants, vitamins, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, detergents, plastics, adhesives, inks, tyres and many more.
Vertellus are an ambitious business with plans to grow turnover significantly in coming years through organic growth in existing markets as well as appropriate strategic acquisitions.
Detailed Job Description
As European Financial Controller for this £60m t/o region, you will have a broad remit with your role having an oversight and key involvement across 3 manufacturing plants in the UK and the Vertellus Belgium business.
You will have a core focus on the following areas:
- Accurate, timely and efficient reporting to the Business Unit FD and the Group CFO.
- Maintenance and improvement of financial controls and processes in SAP.
- Work with commercial teams to understand forecasts, budgets and progress against expected plans.
- Work with the Regional Manufacturing Director to understand, review and improve plant performance.
- Manage multi-currency cash flow to allow effective delivery of commercial and operational plas.
- Be involved in required due diligence and integration planning around potential acquisitions.
Candidate's Profile
For a role of such importance this position is reserved for ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountants.
You will very likely have a background in manufacturing, and certainly be able to demonstrate the core capability in control, processes and reporting as well as likely have had experience in these areas in a large, or matrix set-up organisation.
Experience of SAP, M & A and integration work will also be desirable alongside a delivery focused work style, a naturally inquisitive mind-set and an enthusiasm for your role that will engage non-finance stakeholders. You will be able to demonstrate an interest in how the European region of Vertellus can be improved and the track record and insight to make it happen.
