Our client is a high growth, market leading group with an impressive, global portfolio of assets. They are very active in the US and international markets and are currently transitioning from being a traditional carrier company to an integrated midstream energy provider.
Detailed Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Capital Markets and working closely with the senior leadership team, you will provide technical accounting support across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advise to commercial, finance, treasury and legal teams on technical accounting issues including the treatment of high value or complex items; acquisitions, disposals, convertible bond listings, refinancing, equity issuances;
- Leader on a number of special projects including the implementation of new accounting standards, capital market transactions and commercial structures as they arise;
- Training the business on accounting developments;
- Liaison with external auditors and consultants on technical accounting issues;
- Ad hoc project work for the senior leadership team
Candidate's Profile
- Qualified Accountant with substantial complex US GAAP exposure outside of practice or alternatively a senior manager within practice (ACA or CPA)
- Strong understanding of US GAAP – VIE analysis, ASC 606, Investments;
- Excellent communication and presentational skills, with the ability to convey complicated finance issues in a straight forward jargon free manor;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and gain credibility across the group including providing finance/commercial support at Board level;
- Self-starter, comfortable working in an autonomous role in a fast moving environment.
