Client Details
A top 10 firm based in the centre of Reading is seeking a Senior Executive in Private Client Tax to join their growing team.
Description
· Manage all aspects of tax compliance work and provide tax planning advice for a mixed portfolio of private clients, possibly delegating some work to junior staff
· Prepare and submit tax returns of mixed complexity
· Understand client needs and communicate with them in layman's terms
· Calculate tax liabilities and ensure that tax payments are correct and made on time
· Maintain an up to date client status schedule
· Monitor WIP, prepare fee proposals for consideration by partners/managers, and chase debts
· Deal with HMRC and client correspondence and deal with queries as appropriate, including some degree of advisory work
·
Be alert to cross selling opportunities with Private Client Services and the wider firm
Other:
· Be aware of and comply with the firm's policies at all times
· Record time accurately using the Practice Management System
· Any other duties appropriate to the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training
· Be aware of the firm's risk management and practice assurance procedures and ensure compliance

Profile
Professional qualifications desirable - ATT/CTA or qualified by experience
Experience within a similar professional services environment
Familiar with PerTax and SecTax advantageous
Able to meet deadlines, multi task and work under pressure with accuracy and focus
Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
Proactive with analytical and problem solving skills
Confident and competent in dealing with clients at all levels
Competent at using MS office; Word and Excel
