Our client, an established multinational financial services business based in Birmingham is seeking a Group Finance Manager to join the team. Reporting into the Head of Finance the purpose of the role would be to assume full accountability for the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) reporting, as well as responsible for all reporting to the Shareholder and completing certain regulatory reporting obligations.

Responsibilities Include:

*Managing the production and reviewing of all reporting for P&L, actual and average balance sheet, Inter-company, Off Balance sheet financial accounting information for the UK. The role holder is single point of contact for all IFRS related queries from senior management for the UK.
*Responsible for all Group reporting and ensuring completion of all group requirements for all local UK entities.
*Responsible for producing the necessary financial accounting information together with a monthly detailed business pack to facilitate the review of the monthly P&L and balance sheet which is reviewed and discussed with the head of finance each month.
*In-depth analytical review is performed to ensure any material movements are explained and queried with the relevant business owners.
*Leading the assessment of and conclude on specific technical areas of financial reporting, including IFRS 9 accounting, Impairment Sign offs etc.
*Managing a team of accountants and overseeing all the team activities on all financial accounting for the the UK team and ultimately responsible for ensuring the integrity of data on the UK General Ledger.
*Managing, understanding and contributing to system changes and other transformation projects (i.e. RADAR, IFRS 9 etc.) and their impact on the existing IFRS reporting processes.
*Responsible for co-ordinating, reviewing and signing off testing of changes to finance systems which impact the team's activities.
*Responsible for the completion of the financial accounts for the local entities and responsible for compliance to the respective reporting standards.
*Providing advice and guidance to the business, finance, and other areas of the UK as necessary on the appropriate accounting treatment and reporting requirements.
*Responsible for the management of the month end closing process and ensuring the adherence to group reporting deadlines.
*Responsible for the internal control environment and all level 1 controls within the finance environment and ensuring that all reconciliations for the UK entities are completed as part of Group reporting requirements.

The ideal Candidate would have the following:

*Qualified accountant with solid financial reporting experience in a complex and fast paced environment.
*Strong experience of staff management and dealing with senior finance management.
*Experience of having worked in a number of other bank finance roles preferable.
*Strong banking and markets experience
*Comprehensive understanding of the accounting for the full range of banking and treasury products.
*Detailed understanding and appreciation of all international accounting standards and their impact on financial accounting/reporting for banks.
*Role relevant qualifications, should be at minimum Chartered Accountancy level
*Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Comprehensive understanding of the accounting for the full range of banking and treasury products
*Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Solid financial reporting
*Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. International accounting standards
*Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. Understanding of IT systems
*Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. Microsoft applications
*A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
*A flexible and adaptable management style with experience of developing yourself and others
*Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
