Our client, an undeniable employer of choice and innovative FTSE 100 brand, is looking to source a credible and confident Financial Controls Manager to join its talented team. This is an important role for the business, as it continues to grow on both a domestic and international scale, it's vital the infrastructure's in place to support this and ensure improved process for the future.

This is a phenomenal opportunity for a qualified ACA from practice looking to make their first move into industry or an industry qualified ACCA/CIMA with controls experience looking for progression; you will gain invaluable knowledge and a complete view of the business, standing you in good stead for your likely internal rotation in 12 - 18 months.

The role will be responsible for supporting the business in acting as a second line of defence, providing assurances to Finance Directors and Heads of Department, to sign off quarterly control self-assessments. You will also track action plans for control deficiencies identified, rolling out training and providing guidance to the business.

Main duties include:
* Prepare and agree planning work to be carried out with the Internal Controls Manager
* Assess design and operational effectiveness of framework
* Reporting controls validation results to Management
* Agree action plans for any identified control deficiencies with control owners and assisting in tracking the progress
* Perform remediation controls testing
* Preparing and rolling out training and awareness workshops
* Build effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to work better together and identify opportunities for improving existing processes

The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, from a top 10 practice or blue-chip business and therefore have strong experience with large company processes. You will also have a strong academic record to date, including a minimum 2:1 degree from a well-regarded institution.

The role has a real emphasis on stakeholder management and you must, therefore, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and be capable of building relationships with finance and non-finance alike. You will consider yourself to be confident and highly analytical in your approach, with examples to date where you have used your initiative to add value and positively impact your surroundings.
