Role summary

We now have an exciting opportunity for a part qualified accountant to join our UK Services Finance Team as Assistant Management Accountant.  You will join a newly restructured team of five supporting the financials for our Government and Enterprise Services client groups.

This is a great opportunity for development, offering experience in Working Capital Management, Bid Reviews, Order book Reconciliations, Forecasting, Month End Reporting and Project Accounting. The position will primarily be based in Guildford, with occasional requirements to visit our London site.

What you’ll be doing                               

Primary responsibilities: 

  • Running monthly debtor meetings with our credit control and project delivery departments.
  • Providing financial support to bids across the Client Groups.
  • Assisting in order book reconciliations and the validation of order intake back to contracts.
  • Assisting with the month end process.
  • Supporting the preparation of client group P&Ls, forecasts, financial analysis and reporting.
  • Posting monthly journals.
  • Reviewing and approving project set up requests, and configuration in SAP.

Other: 

  • Supporting the preparation of contract status reports and summary status reports.
  • Guiding project management teams on financial processes.
  • Supporting finance process improvement tasks.
  • Input into the business plan (budgeting) for future years.

What we’re looking for

Essential: 

  • Part qualified in CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
  • An inquisitive mind set and willingness to learn.
  • Desire to challenge and improve processes.
  • Ability to deal with multiple priorities from different stakeholders, and manage deadlines and workload.
  • Good communication skills and effective team player.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • The ability to be proactive, flexible and adaptable in a fast paced environment.

Desirable: 

  • Previous use of SAP and/or Cognos.
  • Project accounting experience.
  • Past involvement in reviewing bids.
