The role

Looking for a new challenge within Commercial Finance? PepsiCo are looking for a Commercial Finance Manager for our UK business to join our Head Office in Reading, Berkshire.

This is a senior role with bags of responsibility. You'll be reporting directly to our CFO to lead the Commercial Finance team providing forecasting, reporting and governance for our UK business trade spend across all categories (Snacks, Juice and Grains). With a total spend of over $1.3bn, our business demands robust reporting and smooth processes. In turn, your experience of championing continuous improvement along with strong team coaching skills will be vital.

Accountabilities

  • People Management and Capability build: Lead a team of 16 (10 x Commercial Planning Analyst, 1 x Trading Terms Manager (with a team of 3), 1 x Sales Promotion Coordinator, 1 x Optimus System Administrator) to provide commercial finance support to the Snacks and Nutrition Finance teams and Sales. Provide coaching and developmental support to enhance team capability
  • Period Close process for Trade Spend: Provide accurate recording and actualisation of spend, reporting of results, management of accruals and Balance Sheet controls. Corporate and external audit support.
  • Support Revenue Forecasting Cycle: Lead the bottom up top-line build for forecasts; Provide data, analytical tools and reports to support revenue performance diagnosis; Ensure outlook process is supported by robust forecast cuts and reporting
  • Deliver key Working Capital metrics for Trade Spend: Forecasting, reporting and performance navigation for Trade Spend cash flow; Resolution of deductions
  • Ownership for the Optimus (Net Revenue Management) system: Ensure data integrity of the system and reporting suite and ensure this evolves to stay fit for purpose
  • Drive Simplification and Continuous Improvement Culture: provide standardisation of reports and toolkits; simplify processes and procedures whilst maintaining governance and control;
  • Lead the Finance Graduate recruitment (placement) scheme: Owns the process from university visits through to securing annual pipeline of candidates

What we are looking for

  • Finance professional (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with commercial experience
  • Proven performance track record at work, with strong academic background
  • Proven leadership experience; Passion to create change and lead a complex people agenda
  • Proven people development skills; exposure to people development techniques, ability to inspire and provide support / coaching
  • Strong communicator; ability to prioritise and make trade-offs, strong attention to detail
  • Effective influencer; ability to influence at a senior level and collaborate well, managing multiple stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage technology
  • Good knowledge of core business processes
  • Experience of working in a global matrix blue chip organisation (FMCG is desirable)
  • Results driven with a positive attitude and perseverance in achieving goals
  • Innovation focused; encourages others to look for better ways of driving results, share ideas and best practice and drives continuous improvement mind-set
