Accounts and Tax Supervisor

A new vacancy exists for a proven Accounts and Tax Supervisor in this small (14 staff) successful firm of Accountants in Berkhamsted. Candidates will need to have worked in practice for a minimum of 4 years and be confident dealing with a small portfolio of clients across a variety of industries.
The role will be to assist Managers in dealing with their client portfolios, which will involve accounting and tax work and maybe 3-4 audit assignments in a year, so extensive audit experience is not vital.
There will also be some supervision of junior staff and the need to review work prepared by them.
It's more important that you enjoy providing a great service to clients, giving advice and dealing with a mixed clientele offering them a positive and uplifting experience when they call their Accountant.

Many clients are Owner Managed Businesses and as such questions regarding Personal Tax and Company Accounts are often linked. There is no separate Tax Team so you will generally deal with some Personal Tax Computations particularly around the busy season. Assistance is always available for the more complex scenarios from Senior Management.

Ongoing study support can be provided where required although it is expected that the successful candidate will be qualified or nearly qualified.
